Scotty Wilcox has over 19 years experience in the animation
and creative industries. Joining Omnicon as 2D artist in 1986,
Scott also worked as Senior Animator at Animal Logic and later
joined Videolab as Head of 3D. Over the course of his career,
Scotty’s passionate approach to his work has seen him
produce works that won a Silver Lion Award at Cannes, Bronze
World Medal in New York, and also ATV & AWARD Award in
Australia.
Scott has worked for clients the likes of Coca-Cola, Holden,
Optus and Qantas, to name but a few. His dedication to both
his craft and the industry he works within are clearly visible
in his commitment to the education of younger designers and
the role he takes within DLF (Digital Laborers Federation)
an organization which focuses on the future of animation,
and of which he is co-founder.

Neriki Television 1985 - 1986
Co-Director of Computer Technology Development of linked
computer system, software, and graphics for use within a TV
quiz show. Scotty was involved in the creation of software
and hardware, and it's use on set during filming of 26 episodes
of the TV show 'VizQuiz' for SBS.
Omnicon, Sydney 1986 - 1989 Paintbox Artist
Scotty utilized many of the skills developed at Neriki to create graphics and animation on a 2D Paintbox for Television commercials. During this time Scotty picked up an award for his work on the project 'Identi-Kit' for Sydney radio station TripleM. It was at Omnicon that Scotty had his first encounter with 3D computer animation.
APV Malaysia 1990 - 1991 Head of Graphics
Having gained a reputation as a combined 2D/3D artist, Scotty
was hired by APV. He handled many roles in his time as Head
of Graphics including Paintbox artist, 3D animator, and trainer
to local Malaysian operators. Scotty introduced 3D animation
into the facility.
Animal Logic, Sydney 1992 - 1993 Senior 3D Animator
Through his 3D work, Scotty was taken on by Animal Logic. During his time at Animal Logic, Scotty was involved in the creation of 3D animation for many high profile television commercials. Scotty was involved in the early development and testing of 'Softman', a software package that would later be used in feature films such as Godzilla and The Matrix.
Freelance 1993 - 1994

During this time Scotty worked for every previous employer and some new companies who were keen to utilize his services. These companies brought Scotty in to be involved in larger scale projects.
Videolab / Omnilab, Sydney 1994 - 2000 Head of 3D
During Scotty's time in this senior role he helped Videolab create a fantastic 3D and visual effects reel. This was achieved through the creation of many high end commercials for both Television and Cinema. During this time Videolab and Omnicon merged and Scotty was appointed Head of 3D for both facilities. It was at Videolab that Scotty worked on the multi-award winning 'Captain Pecker' cinema commercial for Sydney's FreeFM radio station.
Fire Horse Studio opens July 2000
Scotty opened his own studio and has combined the art of
animation with the demands of animation direction. During
each year of operation, Scotty's work as an animation director
has been nominated at the Australian Effects and Animation
Festival awards in the Commercials Animation category.
